Isobel is an award-winning songsmith based in London, UK, whose sound is a fusion of Blues-tinged Country Americana. Her music creates a warm, intimate atmosphere, evoking the feeling of being transported to a club along Nashville’s ‘Honky Tonk Highway’. Influenced by iconic artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Eva Cassidy, Sheryl Crow, and Brad Paisley, Isobel’s music embodies a rich tapestry of emotions and storytelling.
Isobel’s music has received airplay on local and national radio stations, earning her nominations at prestigious awards shows for her songwriting and recorded work. During her time at Tech Music Schools (now BIMM) in London, Isobel won the university songwriting competition with her song ‘I Won’t’, which she performed at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. She has also been nominated two years in a row for the GSMC Awards ‘Best Female Artist’. Additionally, she was a Category Finalist in the Blues & Roots Radio International Songwriting Competition 20/21 with her song ‘More Than Words’ and in 22/23 with her song ‘Wings’.
In the ten years since the release of her debut EP ‘Keeping On’, Isobel has enjoyed considerable success, touring extensively throughout the UK and EU and performing at prestigious venues such as Rampelyset in Denmark, Broadstairs Blues Bash, Swanage Blues Festival, Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues Bar in Soho, The Troubadour in London, and even the Ground Zero Blues Club in the USA.
During this time, Isobel released her much anticipated second EP, ‘On My Own’, to widespread acclaim. Tracks from ‘On My Own’ were not only performed live on BBC Wiltshire but also received nationwide airplay, further solidifying Isobel’s presence in the music scene. Described by Rock-Regeneration as “a plethora of blues influences as well as a good sprinkling of country styles with Isobel’s fine vocals being the proverbial cherry on the cake”, ‘On My Own’ garnered praise from both fans and critics alike for its rich musical tapestry and Isobel’s emotive vocals.
Following the success of ‘On My Own’, Isobel continued to captivate audiences with a series of follow-up singles, including ‘Walking Down The Tracks’, ‘Forget’, and ‘Wings’. These singles garnered attention on various radio stations such as Blues & Roots Radio, Country Hits UK, and BBC Wiltshire, showcasing Isobel’s versatility and staying power as an artist.
